Do you accept insurance?

Currently, Homegrown Speech is considered an out of network provider. We recommend that you call you insurance provider in advance to inquire about Out of Network (OON) benefits. During a free phone consultation, we can also help you find out about your OON options. We utilize a third-party system, which often means you can use your OON benefits with only a co-pay! Please contact us for more information.

What about Early Intervention?

Homegrown Speech is now a provider for Early Intervention services through Suffolk County. This is a no-cost program for children who qualify. If you are interested in working with us through this program, please call 631-853-2318. An evaluation will be scheduled, and you will receive a report and attend an IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) meeting to determine if your child qualifies for speech therapy. If they do, we can contact your OSC (Ongoing Service Coordinator) to arrange to work together at no cost to you. If you have further questions, don't hesitate to contact us.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Cash, checks, and credit cards (subject to processing fee) are accepted. You can typically use your flexible spending account (FSA) or healthcare savings account (HSA). Payment is due at the time of service. A credit card will be required to be kept on file regardless of payment method.

Where are therapy sessions provided?

Sessions are typically provided in your own home, but can also be within the community such as at your local library. There is no additional travel fee for locations within 15 miles of Miller Place, NY. We also offer virtual therapy sessions for clients residing anywhere in New York State.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

Referrals are not required for private pay therapy services. If you are interested in submitting to your insurance provider for out of network coverage, please contact them to find out if a referral is required for reimbursement.
